How many calories should I eat in a day?

I found a great article from this website I frequent often. This girl is on her journey to become a certified personal trainer and she posts articles and workout routines as she learns. She recently posted an article about how many calories you should eat in a day. I found it very helpful.

You can check out the article and site here.

Diet soda
In a 2008 study, researchers linked drinking just one diet soda a day with metabolic syndrome — the collection of symptoms including belly fat that puts you at high risk of heart disease. Researchers aren't sure if it's an ingredient in diet soda or the drinkers' eating habits that caused the association.

I think that this is an interesting article especially for those who cannot afford a gym memberships or who want to save money while still keeping their gym memberships.

I am going to start The South Beach Diet on Monday. I haven't really stuck to cutting back so I am going to attempt to stick with this diet and see what happens. I did it a while back and it seemed to work. This time I will stick with it longer. I will continue to post on my progress and my meals each day to make myself more accountable for what I eat.

Wish me luck!!!!

L.A. OKs moratorium on fast-food restaurants

I think it's facinating to see the people in the Joy Fit Club before and after and what they ate and what they eat now.

I found this as an example for a daily healthy eating:

Breakfast: 2 poached eggs
whole wheat toast
1/2 cup fruit

Snack: Cottage Cheese with veggie

Lunch: Turkey, lettuce, tomato, whole wheat bread sandwich
1/2 cup fruit

Snack: Homemade trail mix

Dinner: Turkey Burger ( no bun )
Side of brown rice
Side of Broccoli

That's a lot of food! I'm sure they mean small portioned meals. It goes with the not eating just 3 big meals a day.

Also, found this site. It has hundreds of exercise videos you can watch online for free.
